THE JEWISH
LAWYERS GUILD held its Annual Sukkah Party and Membership Cocktail
Reception at The Synagogue For The Arts on October 10, 2006. The party was
held in the Synagogue’s unique and beautiful Sukkah and attendees
enjoyed potato latkes and a light dinner. New members had an opportunity to
meet the leadership of the JLG and celebrate the holiday of Sukkot. The JLG
extends a special thank you to Rabbi Glass and The Synagogue For The Arts.
On May 16,
2006 THE JEWISH LAWYERS GUILD, in cooperation with THE ANTI-BIAS COMMITTEE OF
THE SUPREME COURT, CIVIL BRANCH, NEW YORK
COUNTY and THE NEW YORK COUNTY
CLERK’S OFFICE, held the annual HOLOCAUST
REMEMBRANCE PROGRAM in the Rotunda, Supreme Court, New York County,
60 Centre Street. Keynote Speaker Ela
Weissberger is a Terezin Concentration Camp Survivor, Artist and Author.
She told her story of survival and of her efforts to keep the memory of the
Holocaust alive. The program featured her artwork and an exhibit entitled
From the Children, About the Children, For the Children: Art of the
Holocaust, collection of children’s artwork and poetry from the
Holocaust, which encourages responses from today’s youth. View the

On April
30th, THE JEWISH LAWYERS GUILD, together with THE ASSOCIATION OF JEWISH
LAWYERS & JURISTS and THE METROPOLITAN BLACK BAR ASSOCIATION traveled
to Washington to raise awareness of the
human tragedy in Darfur.
